"Ja, well, no, fine: Managing the transition to work and life in the UK"

Open session - Wednesday, 26 October 2011

The SAAX Group Committee cordially invites you and your friends, colleagues and partners to attend our third and final event of 2011, to be held on Wednesday, 26 October at Towers Watson, 21 Tothill Street, London SW1H 9LL. This topic provides a fascinating and entertaining perspective on managing the transition to work and life in the UK and will appeal to SAAX Group members and all Southern Africans living in the UK, whether you have been here for 10 months or 10 years.

Drinks will be served from 6.00pm, with the talk starting at 6:30pm.

Professor Robert Bor ("Rob") is an exceptional speaker with outstanding international qualifications, a diverse skill set and wide ranging experience. Rob is Founder and Director of Dynamic Change Consultants (DCC provides clinical and corporate psychology services) and a Chartered Clinical, Counselling and Health Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council. Rob is South African born and continues to practice both in the UK and SA and runs one of the largest clinical and corporate practices here with a very sizeable South African client base.

Rob is the Executive Coach to several well known business leaders, politicians, sports personalities and celebrities. He provides training and consultancy to a number of well known companies and organisations both in the UK and abroad. He is also a trained mediator. Drawing on his experience as a practising psychologist and a pilot, he and his colleagues provide a bespoke assessment and treatment service for people who have a fear of flying, as well as to the airline industry for employees who have mental health problems. Rob is an Honorary Civilian Consultant to the Royal Air Force. He is listed on the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum wall of honour in Washington D.C. He has published more than 25 books and 200 academic papers and chapters in books. He is extensively involved in the training and supervision of other therapists and psychologists. Rob is often interviewed for and quoted in newspaper, radio and television features. He edits a series of self help books on a range of clinical problems. He is a past recipient of the British Psychological Society Division of Counselling Psychology Annual Research Award.

Rob will provide a realistic yet refreshing view on managing the transition to work and life in the UK with a focus on managing diversity and sustaining relationships in business and personal context.
